All classes at Te Kuratahi o Whakatu have buddy classes. Buddy time encourages tuakana- teina,(older child working with younger child vice versa) mahi-tahi(working together) and whakahoahoa(making new friends). Our buddies are Rm 12. They are Yr 2-3 tamariki and we really treasure our buddy time together. We set aside the time to meet each week and spend time together. When we spend time together we do all sorts of fun activities like; learning new games together, playing new games, reading and writing activities, learning and performing waiata Maori and teaching our buddies about Te Ao Maori me ona tikanga!
